Cheaper first stops
- A credit union payday alternative loan (PAL), capped at 28% APR
- Earned wage access apps such as EarnIn or Dave for amounts under a few hundred dollars
- A payment plan directly with the provider you owe (utility, medical office, landlord)
If you need more than a bridge
- Online lenders that underwrite on income, such as OppLoans or NetCredit, in states where they operate
- A secured credit card or credit-builder loan if the goal is credit, not cash
- Nonprofit credit counseling if bills are already behind
State questions, answered.
Is Lendly available in my state?
Lendly currently lends in 22 states: Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming. It is not available in the other 28 states, including California, New York, Illinois and Pennsylvania.
Do Lendly rates or amounts change by state?
The products, amounts and application are the same in every eligible state. APR is set by your state and approval and is shown before you sign. The only state-specific charge is Florida's Documentary Stamp Tax of 35¢ per $100 borrowed.
Why isn't Lendly in states like California or New York?
Most of those states cap small-loan interest rates well below the level of Lendly's products, so the loans can't be offered there. A credit union payday alternative loan (PAL) or an earned wage access app is usually the next best option.
What if I move to another state during my loan?
Your existing loan continues on the same terms. Tell Lendly about your new address; a new loan or line of credit is only available if your new state is one of the 22 eligible states.
